Program Description
Petroleum engineering cultivates undergraduates with basic engineering theory and petroleum engineering expertise. Students’ learning overlaps with many of the engineering disciplines, such as: mathematics, physics, chemistry, mechanics, geology and so on. They not only accept the basic training in oil engineering, but also can work in the fields of engineering design, engineering construction and management, applied research and technology development in oil and gas drilling engineering, oil extraction engineering, reservoir engineering, reservoir evaluation, etc. Graduates will become senior technical personnel trained in basic training of petroleum engineers.
How to significantly improve oil and gas recovery technology is an important measure to maintain stable production at onshore oil field in the late high water content and also is the future direction of the petroleum engineering specialty, which include chemical flooding, thermal flooding, gas drive, microbial flooding and so on.

Graduates of this program will be practical, employable and qualified petroleum engineers, who can effectively solve problems and design new processes and workflows in the oil and gas production and services industries or other similar pursuits.
